Norman Rockwell Museum schedules Jerry Pinkney exhibition

Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, Mass. schedules the exhibition Witness: The Art of Jerry Pinkney, to run from November 13, 2010 through May 30, 2011. Mr. Pinkney, winner of the 2010 Caldecott Medal, will attend the opening reception on Nov. 13, 2010 from 6 – 8PM.

The exhibition features work from Pinkney’s fifty year career, including illustrations for these books: The Lion and The Mouse, The Old African, John Henry, Black Cowboys/Wild Horses, Uncle Remus: The Complete Tales, The Sweethearts of Rhythm, and The Little Match Girl. On display also will be work commissioned for these projects: African Burial Ground Interpretive Center, New York City; National Parks Service Carver National Monument, Missouri; and the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, Cincinnati.
