What to do in the Berkshires September 2012
Labor Day weekend at Tanglewood will be without jazz in Ozawa Hall for the first time in several years. Instead, the BSO have scheduled rock concerts in the Koussevitsky Music Shed for Fri. and Sat. nights, Aug. 31 and Sept. 1 headlined by Train and Evanesence, respectively. Closing the BSO’s 75th Tanglewood season is a Sunday afternoon concert by the Boston Pops, Thomas Wilkins conducting a program that features Christine Ebersole, Betty Buckley, and Michael Feinstein performing selections from the Great American Songbook.
September marks the transition to the always fabulous Berkshires Fall Foliage season, celebrated in Lenox and Lee with the Lenox Apple Squeeze and Lee Founders’ Weekend and later in North Adams with a weekend of activities including Northern Berkshire Fall Foliage Parade and a 10K/5K Run, Community Walk. The premiere athletic event in Berkshire county, the Josh Billings RunAground, begins in Great Barrington and ends at Tanglwood on Sept. 16.
