The 2011 season at Jacob’s Pillow draws to a close with the seven performance engagement of the Mark Morris Dance Group Aug. 24 – 28, with the dance troupe being accompanied by an ensemble of musicians that includes 4 Tanglewood Music Center Fellows. Now in its 30th season, MMDG has scheduled performances of Resurrection, which is set to “Slaughter on Tenth Avenue,” by Richard Rogers; Ten Suggestions: Dancing Honeymoon, set to a medley of 20s and 30s tunes; and V.
Mr. Morris will give a talk on Aug. 25 at 5PM on his relationship with Annie Leibovitz. The exhibit Annie Leibovitz: Dance, which was mounted in honor of Mark Morris Dance Group’s 30th anniversary and featuring photographs of Mark Morris, Mikhail Baryshnikov, and other artists of the White Oak Dance Project, thas been on display at Jacob’s Pillow throughout the season.
