Events through July, 2009 at the Berkshire Museum.

Garden Lecture with Margaret Roach – 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 26

Former editorial director of Martha Stewart Living, creator of the nationally acclaimed blog “A Way to Garden” and overall gardening extraordinaire, Margaret Roach will present her slide-show lecture at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 26 in the Museum theater. Her lecture will focus on creating a sustainable backyard garden, teach about various New England garden-life and water features.

Wind in the Willows

Berkshire Theatre Festival presents the children’s classic Wind in the Willows, at the Berkshire Museum in Pittsfield, MA Wednesdays through Saturdays until August 8, 2009 at 11 a.m. Prices are $12 for adults ($6 for members), $8 for children 3-18 ($4 for members) and includes Museum admission.

Away We Go

Showing in the museum’s Little Cinema from July 24-30, 2009 is Away We Go, directed by Sam Mendes and starring Maya Rudolph and John Krasinski. Away We Go follows expecting-parents on their travels through the US and Montreal in search of where to settle and raise a family. Along the way they meet old friends, relatives and colleagues whose parental advice ranges from horrifying to frightening, leading the couple to eventually realizes perfection is quite subjective. Nightly screenings at 8 p.m., matinees on Monday, 2 p.m. Six dollars for members ($8 for non members). Rated R, the movie runs 98 minutes.

Artist in Residence – Maggie Mailer

Artist Maggie Mailer will be painting in the Berkshire Museum galleries for two to four days a week from July 2 to August 7. Ms. Mailer will be using the Museum’s collection of 18th and 19th century paintings and other objects to influence her work. Come visit to discuss her work, inspiration and to watch her work progress through the summer months.
