In 1771, this comfortable Federal-style home and two nearby structures were built by John Whitlock, who welcomed overnight guests. A few years later a small section was added to join the buildings and The Village Inn soon gained a reputation for fine hospitality, a tradition that has continued for over 200 years. Each guestroom is individually decorated with antiques and reproductions, many have a four-poster canopied bed, some have a fireplace.
