Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center schedule December 2009

The Berkshires entertainment schedule for December 2009 includes a variety of events at the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center in Great Barrington, with John Pizzarelli (December 18) and Empire Brass (December 4) topping the bill. The Metropolitan Opera’s “Live in HD” series continues with a broadcast of Offenbach’s Les Contes d’Hoffmann (December 19).

Literary events include Symphony Space’s Selected Shorts production Tales of Amazement: Surprising Stories from the World of Yiddish Literature, with acclaimed actors Joanna Gleason, John Shea, and Isaiah Sheffer, (December 6) and a performance, conversation, and book signing by Seth Rogovoy, author of Bob Dylan: Prophet, Mystic, Poet (December 12). Classic holiday movies include Miracle on 34th Street (December 20) and The Polar Express (December 22).
